Columbo on the Corner-Three Movements for Saxophone Quartet in celebration of John Carisi.
Three contrasting movements for saxophone quartet dedicated to one of the most original composers in jazz. Outer movements utilize swing feel. Second movement slow with even 8ths. Entire piece requires jazz feel and phrasing but the harmonic language is interval-based rather than chord-based. No improvisation.
