www.jazz.com is a great website founded by pianist-author Ted Gioia. The site has tons of interesting material and lots of great links.
Their policy regarding reviews is to publish reviews of individual tracks rather than whole albums in order to explore the music more deeply.

I have just finished composing a three-movement work for saxophone quartet.
This work was not commissioned so if you are a member of a professional-level sax quartet and are looking for a new work in a jazz rhythmic style but utilizing a harmonic language seldom found in real jazz works, contact me.
This piece was inspired by the music of John Carisi and Bela Bartok and is dedicated in memory of John Carisi.
